Here’s our guide on how to create web block anchor links in WordPress.
So what are block links?
These links are similar to anchor links, and created is a similar way. The primary difference is that anchor links – also known as jump links – bring you to a block of text on the same page, while block links will bring you to a block of text on an external page.
How To Create Web Block Anchor Links (to a page within the same site)
1. Add an anchor tag with an ID to the page you want to link to. The anchor doesn’t need any content included, other than an ID.

2. Navigate to the page/post where you want to place the link.
3. Place the cursor in the position you want the link, and click the link icon in the content block.

4. Create the link using the URL to the target URL with the ID tag appended to the end, for example: https://andisites.com/#we-can-help
How To Create Web Block Anchor Links (to a page on an external site)
- Right-click on the page you want to link to, and choose “Inspect Element”.

2. If the section has an ID, note the ID of the section. Since an ID is required to create the link, you aren’t able to link to that section if it doesn’t have an ID.

3. Navigate to the page/post where you want to place the link.
4. Place the cursor in the position you want the link, and click the link icon in the content block.

5. Create the link using the URL to the target URL with the ID tag appended to the end, for example: https://andisites.com/#we-can-help
We hope that this tutorial helped you create a web block anchor link – whether you needed it for within your own site or linking to an external one.
